The national average diesel price jumped for the third straight week, this time leaping 4.4 cents to $3.813 per gallon, according to Energy Information Administration data released July 1.
A gallon of diesel now costs 4.6 cents more on average than it did at this time in 2023.
The average price of diesel rose in all 10 regions of EIA’s weekly survey, the highest being a 6.7-cent increase in the Midwest and the lowest being a bump of two-tenths of a cent in California.
